Ghouls look into the night.
Evening is upon us;
we cackle with delight.
Hide under your covers.
We revel in fright.

It’s not imagination;
eerie noises abound,
tickling your sanity
with each bumping sound.

No light to soothe you
from shadows on walls.
Shhhh, plug your ears;
to silence ghouls' calls.

Pray, my sweet child,
for the rescue of sleep.
We live for your cries,
so weep, weep, weep.

Daylight your hero,
so sadly departed.
Close those young eyes.
Your torture has started.

It won’t hurt much.
We’ll take what we need.
Quiver in fear while
on your soul we feed.

Struggle hard against us,
my precious little one.
Resistance we crave.
Provide us our fun!
