Another of my last poems.
a young couple
walks into the
grocery store,
transforming an
ordinary
mass-market
bazaar
into a sweet
memory

a young man
who knew both
parts of the
whole intimately
sitting in a
nearby car
captures the moment
against his will;
transforming a
favorite song
into an unpleasant
mnemonic

he can't ever remember
making that walk
into the store;
they can't ever remember
driving the car
listening to the song
