If I said any of these things to you, you shouldn't misconstrue it for the truth.
It Would Be A Lie (If I Said)

It would be a lie,
If I said,
You were the earth beneath my feet,
Or my gravity.
Because you’re not holding me down,
You’re not keeping me grounded.
We’re floating away from each other,
The broken bonds of friendship,
In between us.
It would be a lie,
If I said,
I could count on you,
Because clearly I can’t;
You’re never there,
Always leaving me hanging,
And wondering where you are.
It would be a lie,
If I said I missed you,
Because truth be told,
I don’t.
Your pictures are hidden away,
Hardly ever looked at anymore.
I never think about you,
Forcing thoughts of you into submission,
So you don’t ever cross my mind.
So how can I miss you?
You’re never here to miss anyways,
Always unavailable,
So I’m making you unavailable to miss.
It would be a lie,
If I said,
You were my strength,
The reason I keep going,
Or my lungs that keep me breathing.
Because you’re not;
You’re weak,
And I’m fine without you.
I can breathe on my own.
It would be a lie,
If I said,
You were my sunshine,
Because you don’t brighten up my day,
Or my life.
You only fill it with gray, gloomy clouds.
It would be a lie,
If I said,
I loved you.
There’s no way I could love you;
You’re unavailable for that too.
It would be a lie,
If I said any of these things.
It would all just be a lie.
