I wrote it to be sort of a sexual inuendo, but you could relate it to life in general.
Wings stretched
Grabbing at air
Soaring, rising, higher
All to drop
Plummet to the ground
Full force, total contact
And you’re down again
Gasping, grasping, straining
Eyes, ears, hands
Craning for what you
Thought was all you needed
To love and be loved
Give love, take love, no love

Solitude.

Everyone beating together
But entirely alone within themselves
By yourself or all together
Reaching the same height
And falling falling falling
Back into yourself
No cushion to your descent
Waiting, searching, crying
Time, setting, feelings
Over-thinking, never thinking
Thinking below my brain
Thoughts straight to my toes
And they crinkle
And I’m alone

Solitude.
