Trying to clear your head of a sudden tragedy
Escape from the sounds
Without music it's just noise
As the rain just pounds down
That noise is destroyed

Think profoundly
To believe in something pure
So tonight you may sleep soundly
Just to be kept secure

Just keep moving
Farther this road will wind
Away from all the apologizing
To leave it all behind

Drinking in the shrill silence
Nothing but this rain
Attempting to keep your balance
But here it comes again

As your body goes numb
As the winds blow louder
Remembering when it darkened
A sudden absence of laughter

You fall down on your knees
Your face now soaking
As you voice your pleas
Behind clouds he's listening

So quickly he was taken
So quickly you were forsaken
Praying he's in Heaven
Begging you're not mistaken
