About the boy she let get away.
She likes this boy
And has no idea why
But when she talks to him
She touches the sky

With sweaty palms
And a racing heart
She tries to decide
Just where to start

What do you say
When nothing seems right
When it all sounds so corny
When it could all end tonight

She tries small talk
But that doesn't work
She wants to be mad at him
To call him a jerk

A jerk for not knowing
Just what to say
And a jerk for not being
What he was earlier that day

But it wasn't his fault
And she wanted to cry
Because it was her, not him
That was just way too shy

Too shy to talk
Or say what she means
Too shy to say it
That he was her dream

Her dream of a guy
Funny and sweet
A dancer, a hockey star
The perfect treat

But she is too shy
To say it to him
So she lets him leave
Before anything could begin

Now he doesn't know it
But he's in her history to stay
As yet another nice guy
She let get away
