Basically I met this guy, fell for him, and he in the end rejected me.
Jason

Sitting outside on the dimly lit porch
eyes glazed over with a drunkeness
throats raw with an alcohol scorch

Smoke and tension fill the air
as we tell stories tripping over everyone
they tell me wanting him is wrong; I beg them to be fair.

There was something sexy in the way he ignited my flame
one hand of his on my knee
hormones begging to be untamed.

To see our foolish flirting
it was as simple as child's play,
but he tells me I am not the girl for he; tomorrow would carry a burden.

And so knowing our desires
could never amount to the illusions in my mind
I take his hand, walk to the door, and escape to extinguish the fire.

An awkward kiss goodnight; playful antics linger no more
he gets in his car, drives away
for now he's shut the door.
