something wrote while looking at the stars in the sky
war and peace
( February 2008 )

we count the distant stars
that light the distant heavens

the moon looks down
laughing at our nakedness

venus trails her jealousy
as she chases distant mars

the night fell with broken darkness
punctured by holes in the sky

the rains fell down like tears
and the winds took quiet rest

the earth in all her fertility
basks in the glow of the sun
