A response to VTech
Morning briskness in the calm April air
Seemed to be a light beautiful flurry
Early Monday minds drowse into subconscious routine
It was colder that day, but the chill had yet to set in.

One bleeding heart
A battered soul, an indifferent mind
Endure the daily torture, the schemes of his peers
Dirty hands wringing an innocent neck, fearful of an eerie voice.

Black tears hidden behind swollen, deathly eyes
A harmless façade, ambitions boiled in a burning mind
Malignant desires, a loathing for the untrue
Pushed to the final limit

Thirty two bleeding hearts
Big man with a gun
Shots echo in the breeze
Music to the ears of the inhumane

Screams ringing in the air like broken church bells
Tears roll off pale cheeks into a river of sorrow and pain
Prayers lifted, raising our hearts and hopes
Tomorrow's potential robbed from today

Some eyes did shed a tear
Some had looked away
A beloved country, looked at for peace and security
Evolved ignorantly, accustomed and unmoved to violence and death as if it were equivalent to late-night television.

Angels did cry upon this day
Their tears crystallized from a harshly cold hate
Frozen in mid-fall to become soft
Gracing thousands to comfort the souls of America.

There is no end to the violence.
