A Fairy Tale ---- No More

A fairy tale I thought once before, a fairy tale I realize no more. A silly infatuation by a young girl who looked in the mirror and recognized no more.  I am a grown woman with hopes and fears the distinction between the two is what keeps me real. I wish we could start over 23 years ago from scratch. Fall in love, move forward, never look back. But life we know doesn't work that way, me in your life as a friend won't make me stay. I want more, more you can't give, I am coward, moving on afraid of love and rejection is how I live. I know you are the one for me, but the one that can not be. Life is so unfair, just not right but a future with you is realistically not in sight. So I'll do what they all said I would, walk out of your life like only Rob could. I know you understand and will wish me the best, how you feel about me matters over the rest. I'll find you again, this promise I make and although I go, you in my heart I take.
