poem written for my mother after her and my father split up.
Wipe away those tears
Because no matter how much they try to spread fear
You’ll have me on your side
until the end of time
I was your gift
God, saw fit
To put us through this bullshit

Mother you’re a different kind of person
Than it is worth to them
But, coward’s lies are never clear
When they can’t admit fault
Like we are their tribe, and they carry the spear

Words are worth nothing and pain should not
Be handed down like clothes
We are not here to bow down to their self righteous needs
We are worth something they will never see
Our values will never do what they can be

And even though you despair
Remember one thing mother dear
You have two others
Not like their eldest brother
We still have our faults and they can cause much chagrin
But god saw fit for this to be the world we were put in

Happiness is not forthcoming right away
But, wait until the time comes for another day
You are worth a lot on your own in these eyes of mine
If I said everything was going to be easy, I’d be lying.
You deserve to be treated like gold
And if you need it, my hand you can hold.
