The pounding of rain can be likened to many things: fear, or love, or even pain.
Pounding Rain

She walks by again
Followed by a subtle gaze
Emitted from pale clouds
Grey and searching
He watches every day
Monotonous routine
Waiting for his moment
Waiting for his moment

He stands
On wobbling knees
Shaking hands
Nervously walks
Left, right
Right, left
Feelings race
Fear, love, pain

He begins walking up
The rote broken
Cracked like glass
Never to be repaired
She's more afraid than ever
Scared and uncertain
For he had been the one
There when no one else was
There when no one else was

She watches him
Take his moment
Un bec
Everything
Slowly unravels
Slowly undoes
Feelings race
Fear, love, pain

He leaves
Relieved sigh
Hidden tears
Fake laughter
Embarrassment
Trapped in
Mangled thoughts
Fear, love, and pain

{Un bec = A kiss}
