This is a poem about sleep paralysis, few people know about it, I suffer with this.
I crawled out of bed today
Feet never touching the ground
I fell, into a deep, dark hole
Blacker then the eerie night

I could hear voices around me
But my own lips, sealed shut
“Am I dead?” I wondered
Paralyzed in fear, couldn’t move

I try to scream, only to hear silence
Time seemed to stretch an eternity
My breath shortening, pulse quickening
A shadow brushes over me

I struggle, trying to move
Glued to the bed
A ton of bricks fell on my chest
Weighing me down, unable to flinch

I wonder if this is a dream
Caught in-between two worlds
Relaxing some, I try to breath
Giving into the darkness

I close my eyes one last time
The voices begin to fade
“This must be the end, “I thought
Suddenly, I’m awake in my bed
