a poem about my first daughter
You’ve always been strong yes my child indeed
Not realizing your strength until that one day I felt you kick inside of me
Struggling and fighting from day number one, your pale purple body they wouldn’t let me hold, rushed to the nursery oh so much to be done

Pricking and probing you had needles everywhere, moving and wiggling trying hard to fight the pain signaled to me you not wanting to lay there, you couldn’t make a sound not even as much as a sigh and as I was later told you couldn’t come home until they could get you to cry

With eyes closed tight and the washing of your hair as they scrubbed and they scrubbed you laid there as not to care and out of nowhere your mouth opened wide, the tears started to roll and your face turning red you let out a scream with everything inside
