A brother and sister who have to part because the brother joined the Marines to go to war.
Holding onto blue,
Gripping on to you,
Don’t go.

Pleading eyes,
Forbidding wish.
Big brother, don’t leave me like this.

Pain streams down,
Fear.
Leaking onto a military coat.

Echoes in my ears,
Memories.Simpler.
When things didn’t matter.

I’d have you forever.

On my knees,
Teary eyes into teary eyes,
There’s nothing stopping you now.

Pick me up,
Dry my tears
STAY.

Just one more day,
         So we can pretend
we’re kids again.
                   When things didn’t matter,
The world was ours,
And we were all each other had.
