A poem in which a young man's split personality is speaking to him.
Are you there? Can you hear me?
I want you to know you don't have to fear me
I will never hurt you or bring tears to your eyes
No matter the demon who appears in disguise
Forget the message that you hear in their lies
I stand before you so near to your cries
But fret not, for I will never forsake you
My love for you will do more than just take you
Away from the pain buried deep in your soul
I will free you from guilt with the truth that I hold
For the thoughts in your heart are useless if not mentioned
Knowing thyself is the divine intervention
I feel the sorrow which plagues your mind
The pain and the sadness which have formed a line
Between the hate and rage which have forced a bind
You neglect what you see, yet you asked for a sign
Now that it's here you refuse to believe
You blame the world, yet it is you who is deceived
This is what you wanted, the thing in which you asked
So why do you turn away and hide behind a mask
