some times it's easier just to fake a smile...
“The Secret”

The sun still shining
As clouds float by
Watching a life slip away
Yet never knowing why

Calling out for help
Though others will never know
Just how long is long gone
For that soul’s eyes will never show

Maybe it’s better that way
For others so see right through
Fellowship with one person
Who deep down they never knew

During daylight hours
A smile on their face, aglow
Then night falls
And the tears drift down slow

But once darkness sets
No one can see
Just how deep the hurt sets
Just how weak one can be

They know a soul
Who’s chipper all the time
Who’s full of words
Opposite of a mime

Its funny how this life
Has its ups and downs
But one’s figured out a way
To turn it all around

One knows how to keep a friend
There by ones side
One knows how to make it appear
To live life in great stride

The secret is simple
But its something you must do
Just as this one crippled soul has done
Wake up, and live as two
