just something that occurred to me
hands move like birds;
pick lucid threads circling.
our soft-eyed Messiah

“in this place, outside religion
we encounter a pear; a paring knife
and see God, or not
as we please.

“here, as children, we outran magic
for broader fairy tales. . . “
