A good night with friends is the key to forgetting the not so great things.
The Beatles were right,
when they said it straight up,
"I get by with a little help from my friends".

Perfect distractions
in humor and trips to Kroger,
taking frequent smoke breaks,
freezing toes,
I don't smoke,
I just sat there on the stoop.

Making me forget the annoyance & sting
of what had gone on,
the lack of anything happening.

Watching cult classics
-some unheard of, some not.
Plot lines tripping on my head
& causing laugh-inducing theories
to spew from my mouth

And eventually,
after the 45 minute interview portion of the night,
trying to keep me awake, to the end of film 2,
well that just didn't happen.
I just caught the confusing very end & shrugged it off,
thank you very much.

But, thank you very much,
from the bottom of what I've got
for getting my mind moving,
getting me out of this hole
& making this kid laugh her problems away.
