A poem about the chaos we must all face at one point.
On Troubled Times
by The Lamenting Exile

On the crashing shoals
of wayward souls
my hold is strong
but not for long
as stormy seas
tear me asunder

fall into the ocean's grace
this joy and sorrow I cannot face,
love's waters touch is frigid and cold
turn me meek where once I was bold

Racing to the tip of tongue
thoughts of passion and romance abound
but in your presence myself unsung
come but a silent sound

Catatonic nightmares
powerless to face,
To wake from this land of dreams
and come to this new place,

A place of calm, a place of peace!
life flows through my lungs like air,
the world is new, a wonderful realm,
and to think that here I had finally come.
