A poem about unrequited love.
From Today

From today I am over you
From today I will not obsess
From today I will start anew
And I will forget your last caress

From today I will let you go
From today my tears won’t fall
From today I will make you know
That I have to rebuild my wall

From today you can’t hurt me
From today you’re words won’t wash
From today you are going to see
That my feelings for you I can quash

From today I accept you’re not mine
From today I open my eyes
From today I will start to shine
And the clouds will clear to show blue skies

From today I love you as a friend
From today I will look ahead and smile
From today it is the end
To a chapter that now I can file.

From today you won’t lead me on
From today you won’t make me blush
From today your flirting will be gone
And I will stop turning to mush.

From today will you let me go?
From today will you stop your ways?
From today will you make me know
That you didn’t mean to start this craze?

Because from today I need to protect my heart
From today I need to stop falling for you
From today I need a new start
And I need to stop feeling so blue.

I could have said this, but you know I can’t speak
I feel so strongly but it’s not you I blame
I have tried to stop being so weak
But you keep reigniting this flame.

Please stop before I fall completely
Whilst I still have a chance to mend
You feel nothing, so tell me that sweetly
And this desire can come to an end.
