Our Walls

A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry writen in quantrains, and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain. Each line within the poem consists of only eight sysllables.



The day we agreed till death do us part
When our son graduated head start
Your hippy days, you and that long hair
These memories our walls do bare

Grandpa and me, cane poles in hand
My sister building castles in the sand
Fourth of July and the rockets red glare
These memories our walls do bare

The day I decided to dye my hair red
When your brother and his wife wed
Photos that cause me to stop and stare
These memories our walls do bare

No words telling the story of our past
Only visions frozen, made to last
Placed with precision and care
