the week before opening night...
Let time idle forward pixel by pixel,
Layer each still frame on my too-thick skin.

I’ll surrender to those body snatchers
That crave just my flesh and lymph
Leave all options grey, save caffeine

That freeze me with ten thousand tasks
For each: another bite of myocardium.

Don’t skip but slow the pulse of time,
Restart me only when it’s nearly dead.

This moment is my aneurysm:
Weak spot in the firewall.
I’m dangerous
And cannot care.
