Breaking up is hard to do.
She cries unanswered and speaks a quiet prayer.
Her body trembles weakly and he no longer cares.
Salty tears fall softly; the silence around them is tough.
She gave to him everything, but still it is not enough.

She could never love anyone more...maybe she never will.

What can she do? Nothing works, not even pleading.
Inside the tears weld, her heart and soul are bleeding.
She wants to believe that the words were not said.
It hurts to see his face even inside her head.

He left and never said goodbye...maybe he never will.

What is left? A future that might have been?
Only despair remains to make her sad again.
Her vision of tomorrow, without him holding her tight,
She wishes for a way to make everything all right.

Wishes there was a way she could be with him...though she never will.

The days slowly pass; part of her now dies,
She no longer looks to the stars with once wishful eyes.
She can cry no more, no longer holds on to hope.
Inside her doubt, she even tries to cope.

She knows he no longer loves her...maybe he never did.
