Remember how it felt to be kept warm?
  Sunrise

Sunrise.  Awake and face a brand new day.
Where is the warmth to drive the night away?
Fingers of heat dance riot across her skin
in an attempt to warm her from within.

Dappled sunbeams caress her supine form.
Remember how it felt to be kept warm?
Held safe within her lover's sweet embrace
before the world witnessed her fall from grace.

Look at her now, with sad eyes open wide;
could not face shame without him by her side.
Supposed soul mate?  All too soon he fled.
Left her alone to commune with the dead.
