love concluded
Worn and ragged from desperation,
feet too numb to display predictable dance,
I must set you free.
Entangled in your blackened, silk web of delusion,
blue-cold hands encase my soul.
Where there once was life, there is pulse no more.
Wilted, brown-edged petals drop from the bud.
Blurred memories tarnish in soot.
Arms reaching out to drag you from your misery,
rip away, before tranquil death engulfs me,
in a deep dark sea of your plight.
Like crisp laundry, twisting in the breeze,
the heart of the martyr twitches.
Forgive me.
