The ache to be new again
After the feel of love’s harsh crush
Before the wounds of  life will heal
Unto one effort we might progress
to gain that which we were meant

Admit thyself to truth’s opaque light
Understand what mourning makes right
Seek out your heart’s purest wonder
and grow toward something you’ve yet to see

Wonder on the world around you
Misunderstand all you do not know
Make light the seriousness in life
for the lack of knowledge you must possess

Innocence can be gained
even after time has scarred
the heart of  one who loved so long
and knows the troubles life does bring

Back to childhood we need not go
to gain what we so much miss
In the experience of the injured soul
is an even greater gift

Though not stainless white are the places
Underneath the wrinkles and the gray
In this form of beautiful exists
The Purest Form of Innocence
