A poem I wrote about a light house

A sliver of light,
shining like a beacon of hope.
In the dark of night,
warning all of a dangerous slope.

Shining like a beacon of hope,
a tall building stands alone.
Warning all of a dangerous slope,
helping sailors find their way home.

A tall building stands alone,
in a place neither water or shore.
Helping sailors find their way home,
tonight wine their families will pour.

In a place neither water or shore,
celebrating their loved ones' return.
Tonight wine their families will pour,
until the candles no longer burn.

Celebrating their loves ones' return,
two long years they have been gone,
until the candles no longer burn,
And as the day breaks into a new dawn.

Two long years they have been gone,
fearing the dangerous slope.
And as the day breaks into a new dawn,
they look upon the beacon of hope.

Fearing the dangerous slope,
in the dark of the night.
They look upon the beacon of hope,
A sliver of light.
