A poem I wrote last year when my daughter started school
First Day Of School

Pencils, pens, and crayons too;
rulers, markers, sticky glue.
Place them all in my school bag,
Mom, don't forget my new name tag.

Hurry Dad! I need a lunch,
apple juice, grapes in a bunch.
With a sandwich, ham and cheese,
may I have some cookies please?

Oh Hurray!! We're here at last,
thank you Mom for driving fast.
Look Dad, there is Betty Lou,
she is going to school, too.

Let's go and find my class,
it's past the wall of painted glass.
Here it is; Let's find a seat,
I wonder who we will meet.

What do you mean you can't stay?
What will you do all day?
Oh no.. I am not sure of this.
May I have one last kiss?
