i wrote this in ninth grade.
Lost girl, tired of hurting
Thinks of him every night
But tonight his star won't shine as bright
She loses sight
And state of mind
The hours unwind
She's numb enough to let him go
Tonight she'll let her scars show
Her reason for breathing suffocates her now
His name a stab at her chest now
The night air whispers a million reasons to let go
As the sun rises, red and gold
Illuminate her silhouette as it falls from the window
And just like all those other times in life
Nobody was there to catch her in death
