A poem I wrote in my teens dealing with severe depression, as well as hopelessness.
In a world of pain, alone with no name.
There's no sunshine here, only rain.
A world with no bluebirds, singing a happy tune.
Just a world of my own, confined in a room.
No happy people, to ease my pain.
Just those around me, whom I've brought to shame.
A world with no colors, only black or white.
My tears fall freely, but only out of sight.
A world of silence, brought down by rain.
Sometimes I wonder, if I'm even saine.
It's a world of pain, to which I belong.
Each day I cry, as I sit all alone.
But I've known all along, I was meant to be.
Alone by myself, alone with only me.
