A poem that I wrote for my friend after she lost someone close to her.
I've seen you around,
but where have you been,
where did you hide your heart,
where is my friend?

what have you been doing
during this time of tears
where do you plan on going,
to hide all of your fears

I've heard your voice and seen you cry
But I really want to hear you laugh
I need to see you smile, will you try?

Life is hard, and it isn't fair
no matter how many times you fall
it gets you down and it seems like nobody cares.

no matter what I do I can't seem to make you smile,
when I hug you I feel you shrink away...
It makes my heart sink, this isn't your style.

I've heard your voice and seen you cry
But I really want to hear you laugh
I need to see you smile, will you try?

I know its still there deep inside your heart,
your beautiful smile makes this world brighter.
Prove to the world that you won't fall apart,

Show me a glimpse of you,
your true self that you hide everyday,
take off the mask, and let the real you show through.

Show me your smile
