A poem about being colorblind
Mama's skin is white like mine,
But her hair is dark
Where mine is blonde.

Daddy's hair is blonde, too
But his hands are rough
Where mine are soft.

The nanny's hands are soft,
But her eyes are fiery and blue
Where mine are calm and dark.

The cook's eyes are calm and dark, darker than mine
But her skin is dark
Where mine is white.

Mama laughs alot.
Daddy barely smiles.
But I love them both the same.

The nanny's lips never curve,
And the cook's laughter never stops.
And so I love them, too.

Mama, Daddy, cook or nurse
If they love me
I'll love them

White or Black
Rich or Poor
I'll love them

Angry or Calm
Sad or Joyful
I'll love them

But don't worry,
A few years more
And the world will be sure

That all I see
Is skin and clothes
Is money or none

But for now let me love them
For only the young ever seem to be
Truly Colorblind
