By The Lakeside

Long lays the night

The moon shines brightly above the stars.

His hair waving in the wind.

I glance at him from across the water

Mesmerized by his alabaster brow

And his masculine intensity.

Is this a dream?

A fools fantasy?

Could it be that I have died

And this being my very own heaven

Has captivated me.

I long for a look.

Just a halfway glance,

To ease my hunger.

What I would give just to

Know that He is thinking of me

As I think of him.

But in no such form does he give

A lonely look, or a backwards stare.

I am left alone as he walks away.

I am defeated beside the rippling lake.
