I look back during senior year and know this growing friendship will be forever.
I didn't know where to go.
Who to trust. Who was real.
The four on their separate paths,
Until the night met us to one.
As we shared that one, unknown magic was built,
Revealing the underneath layer of relief
With boasts of evolving laughter.
Still on our never-ending path, the past is treasure.
From brackets and glasses, to pearls and mascara.
Challenging innocence with door locks and windows.
Nothing hidden beneath our present layer,
For there are no other layers.
Never having the obstacle of aiding one's gloom
In time of cliche rumors and predictive opposites.
Guiding each other's head high, giving my tears joy.
I smile as they piece my mirror back together.
I have found myself. I know where I stand.
I know who will always be real to me.
Never will it separate again
As we continue that night on our roughless path.
