This poem is about me fighting inner demons. I wrote it as me being all of humanity.
I have been delightfully forgiven
they have been beyond driven
here again we end our day
another life is led astray
pure bliss among unhappiness
long since last november's end
the branches on my tree begin to mend
focused on a lifes wasted work
duty falls upon this earth
terrifying demons hidden, lurk
among us now they find our worth
bandaged pieces of a shattered glass
we've all been given one free pass
we are told to use it wise
though all we do is fantasize
beyond the demon lurk the dead
wounds reaffirmed freshly cut and bled
they're poking at us with newly sharpened knives
here again we have distastefully tainted lives
deliver us to the cycle of life we flee
like germs we spread and damage thee
they scorn against our tranquility
we banish them to our best ability
they thrive on pain and disbelief
knowledge of worth brings us relief
a war hath end and fresh beginnings open
wide release of life left unbroken.
