The poem I wrote for my mom on her 40th birthday.
You've reached a milestone birthday,
An age most women must hate,
I'm here to tell you why,
You should be proud on this date.

At forty is when Mark Twain did publish,
"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", a very famous book,
And at forty Nikola Tesla invented the radio
and an earthquake machine with the effort it took.

Edison patented one of his inventions in his forties,
The motion picture camera was vital indeed,
And Franklin set up U.S.A's first fire insurance company,
and in discovering electricity he did succeed.

It is the age in which our propher recieved,
The message from Allah describing our fate.
That's all proof before your eyes that you can
have a new start; it is not too late!

We might not know how to thank you,
For all the sacrifices you've made so great.
Your endless trips to Azizia and back,
You're really a hardworking mother of first-class rate.

I have no doubt whatsoever,
That you'll find it easy to ignore
The unwritten manmade rules on how to deal,
when this 'dreadful' age comes knocking your door.

We're giving you an appreciative standing ovation,
In our special childish way.
Lift your head up high and proud,
And shout, "It's my fortieth birthday!"
