It was turning out that things weren't quite as they seemed.
I'm falling in love with the memory of you
I know it's not real, I know it's not true
I know that it's only who I want you to be
And I know it's a person I might never see

A most solemn feeling is deep in my heart
It's that while we're drifting it's slowly apart
Again with the ocean, it won't ever change
I need something different but you're always the same

There's songs in the air that bring up the past
Some easy some intimate some hard and some vast
Some that I'll hear and you'll fill up my mind
And think why you make me just want to be blind

You make me want to scream 'FUCK' into my steering wheel and drive off wondering why I'm even here 'cause I'm trying so hard but there isn't a reason you're a dove in my sights but I'm lost in the season like the salt in my wounds that I'm waiting to heal but they're not really there so I'm driving in circles around and around waiting hard for the day when the leaves will start to change I'm hoping they'll change I'm praying for change because I drive and I drive and burning up fuel that shit gets expensive I don't mean to be crude but at times I get fed up with your dumb little games and it all just comes back to being exactly the SAME
