November Reflections
Melancholia


Icy winds howl
whipping fallen leaves
~ spirals of melancholia

A shudder from some lonely depth
stirs the ghosts of memories
as light and warmth are drained from view

Gray storm clouds gather
~the shrills of ravenous crows
echo through the barren chill

The shroud of winter hovers
~ death awaits at every turn
as life descends from earthly realms
