A poem about the death of a loved one.
Gentle Night

You left me gently that night
as the walls fell silent
and the air was still.
A hush fell upon the evening
while the sun
lazily descended
beneath the horizon.
I didn't want to accept
I had lost you so easily
but every fiber in my body
told me you were gone.
So I'll live the rest of my days
remembering you
and your touch
until we meet again
on the next gentle night.
