A small poem about a love that cannot be.
Unrequited

How can I speak,
when my lips will not part?
I want to hold you, show you,

How can I breathe,
when my lungs refuse the task?
I want to whisper to you, tell you.

When you kiss my cheek,
I want to shout out in joy.

When I see her with you,
I want to cry out in pain.

How can I endure,
when my heart is breaking?
I want to feel you, caress you.

How can I go on,
when I can’t have you?
I want to tell you, I love you.
