a poem about depression
Down, down into the darkness
Praying against the dawn,
Praying against the light as the
Night rhythms cascade
Against the hum-drum
Rackety swirl of the fan
Overhead that ushers me into
The half –remembered place,
The realm of dream where shadows
Play their concerto of emotions
And memories, haunting the night.

Try; try as I might, I can’t hold off
The grainy fellow perched over
My bed stand promising sweet dreams
Filled with delectable wishes and sweet
Remembrance.
Drifting off on black clouds, the thunder
Hastens the wind and springs me about
To and fro along the storm front of
Subconscious nightmare realms where
All that was forgotten is remembered once again.
