Free verse poem about grief and coming to terms.
We can not go there
by road, by trail
by thought
though it is often this way

by fervant prayer
by dreams
though it often seems this way

the white pines shiver
a golden eagle
weaves a blue dream-catcher

by dreams, yes
my limbs light
I stand with you
as I stood before
held in this immense space
watching the weaving blue

and the woven strands
have brought back my love for you
you left it here
too coveted to carry
on your journey

You'd be halfway there
and here I would be
adrift, free-falling
never landing
