Remembrance of 9/11
Two alike buildings
High enough to reach the heavens,
Never will we forget them
That sickening day called 9/11.
Mothers and fathers killed
To satisfy a horrific plan,
Heroic fighters forever lost
Because of a far away man.
Anger and hatred
Replacing every thought for miles around,
Promising loved ones there would be vengeance
Knowing there would be no rest until all were found.
True values lost
Admidst all of the unrest,
It would never be the same
We were put to the ultimate test.
Two countries at war
For something that never should have been,
Realizing self worth
Turning boys into men.
Five long years
Have come and gone,
But we still can remember
As though it was this morning's dawn.
