This one was inspired by my boyfriend.
The light shines on your body,
Showing glistening rivers
Of sweat flowing down your chest.
You are breathing deep and fast;
So am I;
Together we lay, basking in
The warmth out bodies generate.
Our lovemaking was long,
Slow, tender, and beautiful.
You pull me closer as the warmth
Starts seeping away and
Our breathing returns to normal.
We lay tangled in the sheets,
Entwined in each other's arms.
I lay my head on your chest,
Your cheek gently rests on my head.
Even though you don't say it,
I know you love me.
I know it's hard for you to
Express your feelings.
Believe me, it took me a long
Time to tell you,
Afraid you would desert me
In the knowledge of the
Depth of my feelings.
I long to hear you say
Those words to me, but I am
Patient.
For now I will be content
Just to lay in the warmth of
Your strong arms,
Protecting me from worry,
Loss, or harm, able only
To think of you and
My love for you.
