This won an award. It is simply about the longings of a teenage soul, MY teenage soul.
People think I’m nuts,
Others say I’m crazy.
They all “know” I’m weird
And that my future’s kinda hazy.

But they don’t even try,
They’re too afraid of the dark
To traverse the shadowed path
That leads straight to my heart.

‘Cause they don’t really know
What’s way far down in me.
If they’d travel a little deeper
They could plainly see.

You say you’ve never judged,
That you’ve had faith in me.
I can tell that you’re lying,
Your eyes scream the truth to me.

‘Cause you don’t really know
What’s way far down in me
If you’d travel a little deeper
You could plainly see.

I believe that in all of us
There’s a little bit of me,
An itty-bitty secret
Waiting to set us free.

Maybe someone does know
What’s way far down in me.
Because they traveled a little deeper,
And they plainly did see.
