I wrote this a few years ago shortly after moving into my first apartment.
At Ease

Soothing thunder rolls
amidst the calming rain.
Low lights compliment the sultry wine,
The wine compliments the mesmirizing jazz.
Couldn't I have this every night?
Or would I jepardize,
my social life?
Sporadically a car
splashes through the puddled streets,
accompanied by flashes of yellow light.
This is what it takes,
just to put me at ease.
