this poem is about old forgotten memories of what used to be.
I close my eyes
And drowned out the surrounding world.
The sound of a train's
Whistle starts to fade.
While the sounds of the pitter-pattering
Rain starts to grow,
But only in my mind.
The rain starts to disappear and I am
Left in a dark distant silent world.
Feelings start to arise
And I begin to get confused.
A rush of emotion comes over me--
Followed by a sudden rush of hot tears.
My quiet peaceful world is
Shattered by old forgotten memories.
Ones of a love
That went out unexpectedly.
Ones of broken hearts
And long lonely nights.
Ones I thought I lost forever,
But now I find out that is not true.
You can only put them away,
But you can never lose them.
