to my daddy
Ive made a few mistakes.
Ive got a lot of regrets.
Theres a lot I would take back,

If I had the chance.
I would do a lot different,
Then what Ive done before.
There is one thing that I wouldnt change.
The day I walked out your door.

I warned you it was coming.
I told you I wouldnt stay.
You know if it werent for her
Id still be there today.
You chose her over me.
Youll have to take that to your grave.

Though you still chose her
I love you to this day
Ill love you till the day I die.
No matter what I do or say.

You will always be my father,
And ill be daddys little girl.
Though you wont get to see
The woman Ive come to be,
In my heart youll stay.

We missed those father daughter dances
I had when I was a kid
Fathers day must suck for you
Youll never get a gift

Though im not that little
I still have those childish dreams
That one day Ill find a prince
Who will love me so
And that you will be by my side
To give your little girl away

There is a man in my life
That treats me like a daughter should be treated
But he knows for a daddys place
He could never compete

I still dont understand why you chose her
I thought I ment more than that
But ill be your little girl forever
Just know that thats a fact
