This poem could be read in different ways, depending on the way the reader views it.
The Mona Lisa's smile is frowning again.
Her eyes hold demons that chase her friends.
Where is she heading and where has she been?
Her smile holds a secret from deep within.

The background lifts and the stage is set.
The actors speak and the dancers prance.
The world hurdles forward and she sits still.
Mona Lisa looks on, emotions run deep.

Grimaces of sleep and pardons of will
Wrap up our words in pockets of closure.
Never to know for we're never asking.
Her eyes laugh with pity and satisfaction.

Reality is beckoning with crooked spite,
Rocking the earth with shattering quiet.
The silence is deafening, and she knows it best.
Mona Lisa is dying, smiling again.
